Cornerstone
Group

People are our passion.

More than bricks and mortar.

Creating solutions

We want to attract the best in the industry to deliver a greater level of healthcare to our local communities. There is high demand for integrated medical facilities where healthcare providers can collaborate and offer better patient care.

The bigger picture

Strong corporate governance is often correlated with strong environmental and community outcomes. An integrated approach to ESG tends to yield strong investment returns over time. You can learn more about our actions at Cornerstone Life.

Cornerstone Life

Our desire to create thriving communities has seen us respond to changing healthcare needs and expectations.

Our story

From our beginnings as a family-owned construction company in Southeast Queensland, our story is a journey of passion that is inspired by people in everything we do. Cornerstone was founded by Simon Heazlewood in 2005 as Cornerstone Building Developments (CBD). While the company soon expanded—working on a wide range of projects in education, health, community facilities and aged care—Cornerstone has always been driven by its values, encouraging a mindset that goes beyond bricks and mortar by seeking to give back. Cornerstone Life is the outworking of this mindset.

The health and medical sectors have been Cornerstone’s main focus for over ten years, with the development of ‘Health Hubs’ to accommodate not only general practitioners but also complementary and specialist support from allied health clinicians, multidisciplinary specialist doctors and day hospital facilities.

A new funds and asset management division, Cornerstone Healthcare Properties (CHP) was established to source funds and develop and manage the integrated medical health hub projects that would expand the group’s vision. With the establishment of the MyLocalDoc brand, Cornerstone is now creating a national network of high-quality GP clinics, as well as developing unique doctor and investor models that set the group apart from other investment trusts.
